It is finally time to catch up a bit on my blogging. Now that the holidays are out of the way and a new year has started, I thought it was fine time to share my latest favorite quilt. I made this for Riley Blake to use at fall quilt market in Houston this last fall. Can I say that I love how it turned out? It was a labor of love but oh so worth it. I’ll be honest that it isn’t the type of quilt you can knock out in an afternoon, but when you have it finished, you will be so excited to wrap yourself up in all of that chevron goodness. These are all from Riley Blake’s line of Chevrons. They make me so happy (read all about that here).
Natalia Bonner from Piece N’ Quilt was the amazing quilter. I felt so bad for her, she ran out of thread halfway through the project and had to sit around for the UPS man to bring a new spool of thread. Then she whipped it out because it had to be bound and sent to Houston in a day! It was a crazy adventure. Looking at her quilting, you would never guess that she was in a rush. Everything is so beautiful on it.
The quilt has had a bit of a journey in it’s short few months. It went from Utah on a quick flight to Houston. Then it went on to Australia! And now it is back in Utah on display at Pine Needles in West Jordan, Utah. In February (I think), I’m going to be teaching this as a class at Pine Needles.
